The purpose of the National Science and Media Museum’s Mediatheque is to provide a space for visitors to view a selection of over 2500 titles from the British Film Institute’s invaluable archive.
The space was required to be both accessible and provide privacy, so we created a booth structure based on the ripples made in sand by the tide. Each viewing booth is defined by its own colour to create a relaxed area that cocoons people in an engaging space allowing them to view this unique film archive in private.
